Chair The Luv

The tradition of sitting shiva is a cornerstone of Jewish mourning, grieving, and healing and derives from biblical Joseph’s seven day mourning after the passing of his father Jacob. For bereaved family members, friends, guests, and visitors, the physical act of sitting low to the ground any time one sits during the first seven days after the loss of a loved one can bring significant discomfort during an already difficult time because until now there has not been a low chair made for sitting shiva. The Shiva Luv Chair was created to solve this problem. Its story is one of unexpected discovery.

Dr Zvi, an inventor and ChairMan of his Wellness Wisdom Warriors A-Team, serendipitously received the first two samples of his “Sit Where No One Has Sat Before” “Chair the Luv 007” device three days before Tisha B’Av. He brought both of them to shul on the mournful day of Tisha B’Av (9 Av), the same date when the destruction of the first and second Temples in Jerusalem is mourned—a day that coincides with the yartzeits of Dr Zvi’s mother and his paternal grandfather. On that day he had a revelation that Chair the Luv 007 is perfectly designed to provide comfort and support for bereaved and mourning individuals, families, and communities. The “Shiva Luv Chair” can be readily set to any desirable low height and access to sit down on and stand up from it is unimpeded.

The Shiva Luv Chair is the result of that holy alignment. It is a modern invention with a sacred purpose—to provide physical comfort so that families, friends, and communities can focus on the spiritual act of mourning, remembering, grieving, and healing. The Shiva Luv Chair is a tool of chesed (lovingkindness) designed to support our community during its most vulnerable moments.
